Senior JAVA Software Engineer

The Sports Data & Odds Engineering organization at Sportradar develops, delivers, and operates a broad portfolio of products powering a global sports data and betting ecosystem. The teams build and maintain highly scalable systems processing millions of real-time events daily across more than 30 sports disciplines, including e-sports. Development teams in Warsaw and Wroclaw contribute to multiple products and initiatives, building distributed systems operating at global scale and delivering mission-critical 24/7 services.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong Java expertise
• Ability to design and deliver distributed systems in production and maintain their operation
• Ownership of complex initiatives including architecture decisions and post-incident reviews
• Natural mentoring skills and ability to perform direct, constructive technical reviews
• Deep understanding of testing strategy, CI/CD, and engineering excellence
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with AWS, Kafka, Kubernetes, and microservices at scale is a strong advantage

• Design, build, and operate scalable, high-performance Java services for sports data and betting products running 24/7
• Take independent ownership of complex technical initiatives from initial design through to production delivery
• Contribute to cloud-native architecture on AWS, influencing platform-wide decisions
• Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and constructive feedback
• Drive improvements to code quality, test coverage, engineering practices, and team standards
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on technical direction and provide constructive pushback when necessary
• Build expertise in a technically demanding real-time data environment
