Solution Architect - Roche Digital Technologies, Pharma Medicine

Roche Digital Technology (RDT) is a global team at the heart of Roche focused on digital innovation in healthcare, leveraging AI, data, and scalable technologies. The role is within RDT Pharma Medicines TechOps, supporting Pharma Technical Development (PTD) across drug substance, drug product, quality, and supply chain domains. The team operates a hybrid work model requiring office presence about two days per week.

• University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience designing business-driven, standards-based solutions within complex or multi-system product contexts, ideally in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated life sciences environments.
• Experience maintaining solution roadmaps, assessing technology trends, and conducting vendor assessments across multi-application landscapes.
• Proven ability to create conceptual and logical data models, define integration patterns, and govern non-functional requirements and fitness functions.
• Strong understanding of GxP-regulated environments and Computer System Validation (CSV) principles, embedding compliance-by-design into solution architecture.
• Experience with integration technologies, API design, and data flow management across heterogeneous application landscapes.
• Proficiency in defining and maintaining Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and contributing to enterprise architecture governance.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset focused on enhancing value, reducing technical debt, and driving architectural excellence.
• Full professional fluency in English.

• Design and maintain business-driven, scalable, and compliant solution architectures across the PTD systems portfolio throughout the full product lifecycle.
• Develop end-to-end solution designs, integration patterns, and data flows, translating business and scientific requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with GxP, data privacy, security standards, and non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, availability, and security.
• Define architectural standards, reference architectures, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and technology roadmaps while proactively managing technical debt and evaluating new technologies.
• Support knowledge transfer by maintaining architecture documentation, solution designs, integration flows, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, validation leads, delivery managers, and vendors to align architecture with business objectives.
• Drive architecture governance and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and strategic direction.
• Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to delivery teams and the broader architecture community.
