Data Engineer (MS SQL)

• Very good knowledge of MS SQL Server (2016+)
• Proficiency in advanced T-SQL query writing
• Experience optimizing queries with execution plans, indexes, and partitioning
• Ability to create stored procedures, views, functions, and SQL Agent jobs
• Experience building ETL processes in SSIS
• Knowledge of incremental load and CDC
• Experience integrating data from SQL, CSV/Excel files, and APIs
• Understanding of data warehouse modeling, granularity, and aggregation
• Strong knowledge of star schema, fact and dimension tables, surrogate keys, and SCD
• Experience with SSAS Tabular, Azure AS, and Power BI datasets
• Ability to create tabular models, relationships, and basic DAX measures
• Experience working with partitions and optimizing models

• Write advanced T-SQL queries and optimize them using execution plans, indexes, and partitioning
• Create stored procedures, views, functions, and SQL Agent jobs
• Build ETL processes using SSIS, including designing data flow, control flow, error handling, and logging
• Implement incremental load and Change Data Capture (CDC) approaches
• Integrate data from various sources such as SQL databases, CSV/Excel files, and APIs
• Design data warehouse models including star schema, fact and dimension tables, surrogate keys, and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD)
• Develop SSAS Tabular/Azure Analysis Services/Power BI datasets with tabular models, relationships, and DAX measures
• Work with partitions and optimize data models
