Senior VMware Infrastructure Engineer

MetLife Poland is undergoing a significant transformation across the EMEA region, consolidating six regional data centers into a unified global operating model to improve collaboration, efficiency, and support. The role is within the newly formed EMEA Data Centre Platform Team responsible for supporting these data centers and delivering a first-class solution for MetLife.

• 5+ years of experience in VMware infrastructure design, deployment, and administration.
• Strong expertise in VMware stack: vSphere, vSAN, NSX, vRealize/Aria Suite.
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms including HCI, Red Hat, Nutanix.
• VMware certification (VCP or VCAP) preferred.
• Solid understanding of SAN technologies (Fibre Channel, iSCSI).
• Strong networking knowledge including VLANs, subnetting, load balancing, distributed switches.
• Understanding of Micro Segmentation in virtual environments.

Design & Architecture:

• Create High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents for enterprise virtualized environments, including VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

Infrastructure Management:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and support VMware ESXi, vCenter, SRM, vRealize Operations, and Aria Suite tools, including SAN integration.

Technology Selection:

• Evaluate, select, and integrate new technology solutions ensuring performance and security standards.

Project Oversight:

• Lead infrastructure-related projects from conception to completion.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement security policies, conduct risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Performance and Optimization:

• Monitor system performance, manage capacity, and identify improvement areas.

Collaboration:

• Work with project managers, business leaders, and IT professionals to align infrastructure with business goals.

Documentation and Standards:

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure processes and standards.

Disaster Recovery:

• Develop and lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
