AMD is a company focused on building products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences including AI, data centers, PCs, gaming, and embedded systems. The role is within the Applied Research and Engineering team.

• Proficiency in machine learning and artificial intelligence, especially model architecture
• Expert programming skills in Python, C, and/or C++
• Knowledge of software development workflows: git, cmake, CI
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• Proficient in English

• Architect machine learning models for Generative AI related research
• Apply machine learning and AI techniques within graphics
• Utilize general software development workflows including git, cmake, and CI
• Program expertly in Python, C, and/or C++
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with teams across AMD

Preferred Experience:

• Strong object-oriented programming background
• Understanding of model distillation
• Understanding of image upscaling
• Understanding of 3D graphics and ray tracing
• Ability to write high quality code with attention to detail
• Experience with concurrent programming and threading APIs
• Experience with debuggers, source control systems (GitHub), and profilers
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Leadership and interpersonal skills
• Experience coding with AI tools and agents
