Senior Cloud Engineer

Remitly Poland sp. z o.o. operates in the financial services sector, providing global money transfer services since 2011. The company manages cloud infrastructure at significant scale, supporting millions of customers worldwide.

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure with significant hands-on AWS expertise.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language; Go experience is strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of cloud networking including VPC design, subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, and load balancing.
• Experience with edge infrastructure management such as CloudFront, AWS Shield, WAF, and CDN failover strategies.
• Experience building and operating infrastructure as code, preferably with Terraform.
• Understanding of cloud and infrastructure management concepts including multi-account governance and organizational tooling.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes/EKS is a plus.

Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure:

• Lead architecture decisions on cloud topology, multi-account governance, cross-region connectivity, and platform abstractions.
• Own and evolve edge infrastructure including CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, CDN failover strategies, and latency-optimized routing.
• Design and operate global partner and bank connectivity networks such as VPNs (IPSec/IKEv2), Direct Connect, and BGP routing.

Software Development & Operations:

• Build and maintain production Go services and CLI tooling that automate, observe, and extend the cloud platform at scale.
• Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Platform teams to embed observability, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across distributed cloud environments using deep knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.
• Participate in on-call rotation (5-person weekly rotation) with occasional late syncs with Seattle (4–6 PM CET).

The role requires participation in a 5-person weekly on-call rotation with occasional late meetings aligned with Seattle time zone. The company expects in-office presence at least 50% of the time monthly, typically three days a week, with flexibility based on team needs.
