Full Stack Engineer, Driver Validation

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company focused on building the Waymo Driver, a fully autonomous ride-hail service and vehicle platform. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips and driven over 100 million miles on public roads across 15+ U.S. states.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience in full stack development, including back-end languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, or C++ and front-end technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Knowledge of front-end web technologies
• Experience using AI tools for day-to-day development (e.g., Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex)

Nice to have:

• Experience building data visualization and/or data management applications
• Experience collaborating with UX and Interaction design
• Experience with engineering artifacts, reliability monitoring and alerting, security and privacy practices, documentation, integration testing, production hygiene, and support processes
• Ability to communicate with software developers and cross-functional stakeholders at multiple levels and across sites

• Help build and evolve one or more mission-critical commercialization tools and systems
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and other engineering teams across sites to develop user-facing products for external and internal use
