IT Operations Engineer

The company provides total talent solutions partnering with clients in private and public sectors, focusing on IT/OT, R&D, Engineering, and Business Development to deliver sustainable value through holistic talent management. The role is for a client in the banking industry, located in Warsaw or Gdańsk.

• 5+ years in IT operations or application support (2nd/3rd line) or similar production-facing role
• Proven experience owning incidents end-to-end from alert to RCA to prevention
• 2+ years working within an ITIL framework (incident, problem, change management)
• Experience in Agile delivery environments alongside development teams
• Excellent English communication skills
• Proficiency with log analysis and alerting tools: Splunk, Apica, Sysdig
• Experience with observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana
• Comfortable operating services on Kubernetes (pod health, logs, restarts)
• Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines for deployment troubleshooting
• Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, DB2) including querying and execution plans
• Understanding of Spring/Hibernate, Kafka message flows, XML/JSON payloads

Nice to have:

• Java/J2EE development background
• IBM Datastage operational experience
• Scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation
• Experience with Ansible for configuration changes

Incident & Problem Management:

• Own the RCA process for production incidents — diagnose, resolve, and implement preventive measures

Production Monitoring & Support:

• Continuously monitor service health, detect anomalies early, and act before incidents occur

Deployment Execution:

• Trigger and oversee release deployments through CI/CD pipelines; troubleshoot failed deployments and coordinate rollbacks

Environment Oversight:

• Maintain stability and alignment of Pre-Production and Production environments

Runbook & Knowledge Management:

• Document operational procedures, known issues, and resolution steps

Cross-team Collaboration:

• Work closely with development and platform teams to triage issues and clarify operational requirements

Operational Improvement:

• Identify recurring issues and propose automation or tooling to reduce toil
• Improve observability coverage including dashboards, alerts, and log queries
• Contribute to service continuity initiatives and disaster recovery drills
