Windows System Engineer

Devire is an international company specializing in recruitment, outsourcing and employer branding services, representing leading employers on the European market for over 30 years. The role is within the banking sector technology team.

• 7-12 years of Systems Engineering experience with Microsoft Windows Desktop and VDI environments.
• Strong hands-on experience in End User Computing (EUC), focusing on Windows desktop operating systems and enterprise desktop management.
• Proven experience leading and supporting large-scale Windows 10 to Windows 11 migration projects including planning, deployment, application compatibility, testing, and user transition.
• Extensive experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS).
• Deep knowledge of Windows OS internals, Windows 10 and 11 architecture, Group Policy, Active Directory, and desktop security best practices.
• Experience managing large-scale physical and virtual desktop environments.
• PowerShell scripting skills as the primary automation and administration tool.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) for Windows OS deployment, patch management, software distribution, compliance, and endpoint lifecycle management.

• Work primarily on VDI and Windows 11 products such as virtual applications and virtual desktops.
• Focus 70% on BAU tasks including deploying new versions of Citrix and Windows, upgrades, and maintaining Windows environments/VDI across 80,000 machines globally.
• Spend 30% of the role providing and deploying sustainable and configurable solutions for the existing platform following escalations from BAU tasks.
• Provide engineering and scripting support to address deployment issues and infrastructure solutions.
