Senior Data Engineer

We are a Haskell, Rust, Blockchain, AI & Recruitment consultancy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data infrastructure with production-grade systems.
• Expert-level SQL skills and strong programming experience in Python or similar backend languages.
• Significant experience with Airflow, dbt, ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Athena.
• Deep understanding of event-driven architectures and real-time/near real-time data processing.
• Proficiency in AI-assisted development tools with discipline in validating and productionizing generated code.
• Experience designing systems prioritizing data quality and observability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in fintech, payments, or financial infrastructure (reconciliation, settlement, ledger reporting).
• Exposure to Web3, blockchain, or crypto ecosystems (on-chain data or wallet analytics).
• Experience handling high-volume event data at scale in a fast-growing startup.
• Familiarity with Rust is a strong plus.

Data Platform & Pipeline Engineering:

• Design and operate scalable, near real-time data pipelines for payment and platform data.
• Evolve architecture from MVP to high-availability production environment.

Financial Data Modeling:

• Model and process complex transactional and ledger-style data for financial reconciliation, merchant reporting, and settlement tracking.

Data Quality & Observability:

• Ensure accuracy and freshness of data across critical workflows.
• Build robust monitoring and alerting systems meeting financial infrastructure reliability standards.

Backend & API Development:

• Build and maintain backend services exposing data to internal platforms and downstream consumers.

Operational Ownership:

• Own systems end-to-end from deployment to monitoring and reliability.
• Contribute to engineering standards and operational playbooks in a remote-first environment.
