Senior Manager, Engineering - Partner Enablement Applications

Netflix is a leading entertainment service with over 300 million paid memberships worldwide. The Client and Partner Technologies (CPT) organization enables Netflix experiences on devices and builds foundational client systems and tools. The Partner Enablement Apps (PEA) group develops web applications that support device and payments partnerships, used by external partners and Netflix teams.

Experience:

• Extensive software development experience with strong technical foundations.
• Significant engineering leadership experience managing managers or multiple teams.
• Proven track record of building and scaling engineering organizations.
• Experience with distributed systems, web applications, and cloud infrastructure.

Leadership & Communication:

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong judgment and decision-making in ambiguous situations.
• Experience fostering inclusive team cultures.
• Comfortable with in-office collaboration a few days per week.

Technical:

• Deep understanding of full-stack engineering practices and modern software development methodologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Spinnaker), build tools (Gradle), and cloud platforms.
• Strong grasp of reliability engineering principles (monitoring, alerting, incident management).
• Experience working with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in B2B platform development or partner-facing applications.
• Background in device ecosystem management or consumer electronics partnerships.
• Experience with data platforms and analytics systems.
• Prior experience at a high-growth technology company operating at scale.

Strategic Leadership:

• Define and drive the long-term technical vision and roadmap for Enablement Applications.
• Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and senior leadership to influence strategy and prioritization.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and platform evolution.
• Own technical and organizational strategy for migrating and deprecating legacy services.

People Leadership & Organizational Development:

• Build, mentor, and retain a world-class engineering team.
• Create an environment for engineers to do their best work.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, psychological safety, and engineering excellence.
• Champion diversity and inclusion.
• Provide coaching and career development support.

Technical Excellence & Delivery:

• Establish and maintain strong foundations for core services including testing, monitoring, on-call support, and data quality.
• Collaborate to design and implement scalable, performant, and reliable solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends and drive adoption.

Operational Excellence:

• Own reliability and support for Partner Enablement Applications.
• Drive operational maturity through metrics, SLOs, and continuous improvement.
• Balance innovation with stability.

Cross-Functional Partnership:

• Build strong relationships with Product, Design, Partner Engineering, and Business Development teams.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Navigate complex organizational dynamics and drive alignment across distributed teams.

This role requires effective collaboration across multiple time zones, including meetings outside standard local working hours.
