Senior / Lead QA & DevOps Engineer

Upvanta is seeking a Senior/Lead QA & DevOps Engineer to work on a complex environment including a commercial application and High Performance Computing (HPC) environments. The role involves independently co-creating and implementing testing and observability strategies in a distributed system.

• Strong experience in QA Automation and/or DevOps
• Practical knowledge of Robot Framework (UI / API / SSH), GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools, Grafana, and basic observability
• Experience in API and integration testing
• Familiarity with Linux environments (remote server work, logs, filesystem)
• Experience with contract testing (Pact / Spring Cloud Contract) is a plus
• Ability to work independently in an environment without established QA standards
• Strong analytical skills
• Proactive and able to work with multiple stakeholders
• English language proficiency for fluent communication

Nice to have:

• Experience in HPC or multi-cluster environments
• Experience in GxP environments
• Experience building QA strategy from scratch
• Experience with large, complex distributed systems

• Automate UI and API acceptance tests
• Create simple pipelines for running tests
• Cover tests for happy path, integrations, and risk-based approaches
• Collaborate with business and BA to define flows and prioritize risks
• Build basic observability with Grafana dashboards
• Co-create QA foundations in an environment without existing QA standards
• Review and develop existing test automation in cooperation with QA
• Manage HPC Toolbox modules, monitor usage, create baseline tests, and update inventory
• Build pipelines for repeatable test execution
• Configure test infrastructure
• Collaborate closely with DevOps
• Implement QA strategy independently
• Periodically review and support contract testing (Pact / Spring Cloud Contract)
• Migrate tests to Robot Framework including GxP environments
• Standardize observability approach in microservices
