Senior QA Engineer – Data Engineering (Azure)

Jacobs supports critical clients across healthcare, life sciences, and medical societies by building modern data platforms that enable better insights, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision making. The role focuses on data platforms built on the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, processing large volumes of sensitive healthcare-related data for U.S. Medical Societies.

• Strong experience in data testing / QA within data engineering environments
• Hands-on experience with SQL for data validation and analysis
• Experience testing ETL pipelines and data workflows
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure SQL
• Understanding of data quality concepts, validation techniques, and data integrity checks
• Experience with end-to-end testing, regression testing, and UAT support for data systems
• Exposure to CI/CD processes and test automation frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent English communication skills

Nice to have:

• Experience working with healthcare or regulated data (PII, sensitive datasets)
• Familiarity with data lake architectures and large-scale data platforms
• Experience working with distributed teams and U.S.-based stakeholders
• Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks

• Validate data pipelines and ETL processes built in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse
• Perform data validation using SQL (row counts, joins, aggregations, data accuracy checks)
• Ensure data quality, completeness, and consistency across source and target systems
• Validate data models, schemas, and transformations in Azure SQL and Synapse
• Design and execute test cases for data ingestion, transformation, and loading workflows
• Conduct end-to-end testing of data pipelines including integration, regression, and UAT support
• Test incremental and historical data loads, error handling, and pipeline dependencies
• Identify data defects, analyze root causes, and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues
• Build and maintain automated data testing frameworks
• Implement and support CI/CD quality checks for data pipelines
• Contribute to defining QA standards, best practices, and data validation strategies
• Work closely with U.S. stakeholders, product owners, and project managers
• Collaborate daily with distributed teams across the U.S., UK, and Poland
• Support reliable and timely delivery of business critical data products
