AVP, Senior Engineer - AI & Data Science

HSBC Technology Poland is part of HSBC, a global financial services organization. The role is within the Global Finance function, which aims to be the best finance function in the financial services industry by delivering powerful insights to internal and external customers.

• Strong experience delivering Data Science and similar solutions
• Knowledge of ingestion and data preparation techniques for AI solutions
• Experience with Cloud-based APIs for Large Language Models is highly desirable
• Very good Python skills and strong object-oriented programming concepts
• Strong knowledge of software engineering architecture concepts for multi-tier solutions including user interfaces, data, workflow, and controls
• Strong knowledge of technology and support practices to maintain production-grade user systems, including testing practices
• Strong experience with developer tools and frameworks such as GitHub, Agile practices, source control, and branching concepts
• Understanding of how Large Language Models work
• Knowledge of web UI coding frameworks such as React, Node.js, Angular is desirable
• Strong knowledge and experience of modern Agile and project management practices
• Ability to direct and supervise other team members and strong organizational skills

• Develop Python-based solutions for Global Finance business teams, including Generative AI
• Research and develop new techniques in data science and Generative AI to improve output quality
• Perform detailed testing of prompts and data inputs and outputs
• Maintain the codebase including frontend, backend, and algorithms in a global engineering team environment
• Understand and implement appropriate governance and controls
• Interface with business and other stakeholders including business line teams, Global Finance Analytics, Transformation, Change/Project Management, IT, and Governance teams
• Contribute towards overall strategy development for the team
• Work closely with Quantitative Analytics teams to build software solutions compliant with accounting, regulatory, or other requirements
