(AI-native) Product Engineer

At Zowie, the company is revolutionizing customer interactions by creating AI Agents that handle 100% of customer interactions for leading consumer brands. The engineering team manages a sophisticated system of over 100 microservices primarily coded in Scala and Java, using technologies such as gRPC, Kafka, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and Redis. The company emphasizes AI-native engineering practices and a meritocratic, autonomous work environment.

• Strong coding skills in Java, Scala, or Python
• Passion for learning and enhancing engineering workflows with AI development tools
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Solid system design skills for technology and architecture choices
• Experience with distributed systems
• Product acumen, ownership, and focus on customer value
• Working proficiency in English and Polish (spoken and written)

Nice to have:

• Experience with Docker Swarm or Kubernetes
• Experience with NoSQL databases and GraphQL
• Experience with Kafka or other message brokers

• Build foundational systems powering AI Agents at scale, ensuring reliability, performance, and adaptability
• Use AI tools daily to explore designs, scaffold code, generate tests, and document decisions
• Work across Java, Scala, and Python as appropriate for the task
• Participate in shaping end-to-end solutions and influencing architecture decisions
• Collaborate in regular planning sessions, standups, code reviews, and retrospectives
• Contribute to strategic decisions impacting product and engineering practices
