Software Engineer

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Hands-on experience designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms
• Object-oriented analysis and design using common design patterns and adherence to SOLID principles
• Understanding of test-driven development
• Creative, proactive problem-solving skills with appropriate sense of urgency
• Focus on customers and user experience
• Experience working closely with project resources including solution analysts, QA, and architects
• Ability to estimate effort for changes and new projects
• Basic knowledge of generative AI tools to improve engineering productivity
• Strong communication skills with ability to present complex ideas clearly
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with diverse stakeholders
• Support documentation of best practice business processes
• Comfortable working in a rapidly changing, ambiguous, and regulated environment
• Experience working across cultures and time zones

• Engage in technical design of solutions based on use cases and business requirements
• Complete proof of concepts and technical evaluations of technologies, designs, and solutions
• Contribute to creation of detailed design and use case documents
• Interact with internal teams to develop solutions to complex technical issues
• Use approved generative AI tools to improve development efficiency while adhering to standards
• Analyze current solution architecture and propose improvements to increase business value, performance, and quality
• Adhere to and contribute to best practices, guidelines, standards, and procedures
• Communicate and present complex technical concepts to peers
• Ensure inclusion of Visa’s business vision, environment, and technology trends in solutions
