Software Engineer (Java / AWS)

Silvair is a company focused on IoT, smart lighting, and Bluetooth Mesh technology used in commercial buildings across Europe and North America. The role involves working on Silvair's Licensing system, a critical backend infrastructure enabling manufacturing partners to program IoT lighting devices, track production volumes, and generate reports. The team develops the Silvair Platform, which includes cloud infrastructure, services, appliances, and web applications for mesh network management.

• Java 11 or higher
• Experience with Spring Framework and migration to Spring Boot
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases, including query optimization and schema migrations
• Experience with AWS EC2 and ECS
• Proficiency in testing from unit to integration tests
• Operational experience with Docker and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to write clean, well-documented, maintainable code focusing on architecture and minimizing technical debt
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams

Nice to have:

• Experience with Angular, especially migration from Angular 1
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog

• Designing and implementing new features and functionalities, covering business logic, API, and persistence layers
• Contributing to architectural decisions, especially service decomposition, cloud infrastructure, and technical debt reduction
• Participating in infrastructure and platform migrations (e.g., EC2 to ECS, Spring XML to Spring Boot)
• Performing code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge
• Writing and maintaining automated tests across the testing pyramid
• Maintaining, refactoring, and modernizing legacy code to improve performance and stability
• Collaborating with product and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
