Head of QA (remote-only, worldwide remote)

TuxCare is a subsidiary of CloudLinux offering security solutions for Linux and open-source software aimed at enterprise organisations. One of its key products is Endless Lifecycle Support (ELS), which enables organisations to securely continue using Linux distributions and software languages that have reached end of life or no longer receive standard security updates. ELS delivers vulnerability patches for unsupported versions of various Linux distributions and runtimes/frameworks such as PHP, Python, Spring, Angular/AngularJS, Django, and Flask.

Must Have:

• 5+ years in test automation; 2+ years leading a QA team of 3+ engineers
• Deep experience with Linux-based product testing including RPM/DEB packages, systemd, multi-distro matrix
• Strong Python skills
• Proven track record improving test reliability and coverage
• Experience building or integrating AI/ML into QA workflows
• CI/CD pipeline architecture experience (Jenkins Pipelines; GitLab CI migration upcoming)
• Fluent in Linux CLI and shell scripting
• English Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher

Nice to Have:

• VM orchestration or cloud infrastructure testing experience
• Experience testing security patches and package updates including kernel-level patches
• Experience with multi-distro Linux testing matrices at scale
• Hands-on experience with Linux packaging ecosystems and security advisory formats
• Understanding of vulnerability lifecycle including CVE intake, patch validation, regression testing, advisory generation

Strategy & Architecture:

• Define key product quality metrics and build a strategic multi-quarter QA roadmap
• Execute the defined QA roadmap and hold the team accountable
• Expand test coverage prioritised by risk and customer impact
• Own the test system infrastructure and resource strategy
• Drive adoption of AI tooling across the QA function

People & Execution:

• Build a team culture focused on AI and automation usage
• Restructure on-duty rotation for equity and sustainability
• Mentor SDETs to become product quality engineers owning subsystems end-to-end
• Create clear career growth paths within QA
• Collaborate closely with developers to translate quality signals into development priorities
