Senior Software Engineer | Asana [31-36k PLN CoE]

• 6+ years of experience writing production code in large, well-maintained codebases
• Professional experience with Javascript/Typescript (React and Node.js) or Go/Scala/Python
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional and cross-timezone collaboration
• Autonomous judgment balancing speed and code quality
• Passion for creating superior user experiences and attention to detail
• Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies
• Hands-on experience in search engineering with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch
• Experience with embeddings and machine learning approaches to search and retrieval

AI Retrieval team:

• Reduce latency and cost of retrieval systems to improve AI feature performance
• Improve quality and relevance of search results
• Expand retrieval capabilities to new Asana objects and third-party data sources
• Build and optimize search infrastructure using OpenSearch/ElasticSearch
• Contribute to ML-powered features like embeddings-based retrieval and semantic search
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in New York and Warsaw

Infrastructure and Product teams:

• Build and own broad product features from UI to scalable backend processing
• Participate in all stages of product development with cross-functional teams
• Develop clean, maintainable code
• Contribute to a balanced, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture in Warsaw office
