Senior Business Systems Analyst

JetBrains is a company focused on creating developer tools since 2000. The Business Application Development team builds and supports internal and customer-facing systems for licenses, subscriptions, billing, payments, reporting, and other business-critical functions.

• Solid experience in business analysis within software development teams.
• Understanding of end-to-end software development processes.
• Ability to structure complex information and clarify messy discussions into clear requirements.
• Focus on core problems and avoidance of unnecessary complexity.
• Comfortable discussing implementation details and technical constraints with engineers.
• Ability to independently investigate unfamiliar functionality and connect systems.
• Proactive, curious, and adaptable communication and analytical skills.

Nice to have:

• Ability to work with SQL.
• Ability to read code to understand functionality.
• Experience with technically complex systems or system analysis.
• Experience with billing, subscriptions, payments, or other business-critical domains.

• Lead discovery and requirements discussions.
• Organize and improve the intake and analysis process within the team.
• Structure requirements to support effective development.
• Help developers and QA engineers during implementation when new questions arise.
• Investigate unfamiliar areas independently.
• Consider edge cases, dependencies, risks, and long-term maintainability.
• Help reduce ambiguity around projects.
