Senior Java Developer

Our client is a top-tier global investment firm. The role is within their Core Trading Infrastructure group, responsible for engineering ultra-low latency platforms that drive the firm's global trading operations.

• 10+ years of commercial experience designing and building ultra-low latency, high-throughput backend systems in Java.
• Advanced knowledge of concurrency, multithreading, and practical implementation of lock-free data structures.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture and scalable platform design.
• Proven history of leading large-scale, complex engineering projects.
• Strong mentoring skills and passion for elevating technical abilities of engineers.
• Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-stakes financial environment.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI-assisted coding tools for generation, planning, or testing.

• Architect & Develop: Build and maintain critical, highly robust trading algorithms and distributed backend components.
• End-to-End Delivery: Drive major technical initiatives from the initial whiteboard phase to production rollout and maintenance.
• Technical Leadership: Act as a technical authority, guide architectural decisions, enforce engineering standards, and conduct code reviews.
• Performance Tuning: Continuously profile and optimize systems to maximize throughput and stability.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with research analysts, portfolio managers, and trading desks to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• System Evolution: Identify bottlenecks and areas for modernization within the existing infrastructure.
