Senior Software Engineer (Backend): Ledger - Reporting

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and experience building microservices with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS) and relational databases.
• Experience with data pipelines, event-driven data flows, and ensuring data consistency across services.
• Experience with financial data systems including ledgers, transaction stores, reconciliation pipelines, or financial reporting systems.
• Solid understanding of domain-driven design and hexagonal architecture.
• Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping or ledger semantics.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work across time zones in a remote-first setup.
• Production ownership mentality including experience with on-call, incident response, and operational monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Micrometer).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tooling.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours on-call rotation.

Nice to have:

• Experience with data warehousing tools for reporting and analytics.
• Background in building customer-facing reconciliation or reporting products for B2B fintech or payments platforms.
• Familiarity with database migrations in high-throughput systems.
• Experience with Kafka Streams or event replay architectures.
• Exposure to stablecoin, crypto, or blockchain-adjacent products.
• Experience working with multi-tenant architectures.

• Build and improve the Reporting Service by designing and implementing services that produce standardized financial reports based on ledger data.
• Develop customer-facing reconciliation APIs enabling enterprise clients to audit charges and automate close processes.
• Ensure ledger integrity at scale by working across multiple services to maintain accurate transaction posting and reporting.
• Support the FinLedger event-driven transaction processing pipeline to maintain data accuracy and throughput.
• Integrate with downstream consumers such as Billing & Fees, Finance, and Commercial teams to align reporting data.
• Design services for reliability and horizontal scalability using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and production monitoring for ledger-critical services.
• Write well-tested, well-documented code and contribute to architecture reviews and technical design submissions.
