Data Engineer

Ework Group, founded in 2000 and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, has around 13,000 independent professionals on assignment. The company provides total talent solutions partnering with clients in private and public sectors, focusing on IT/OT, R&D, Engineering, and Business Development. The recruitment is for a client in the retail industry.

• At least 4+ years of work experience as a Data Engineer on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with GCP tools such as Dataflow and BigQuery.
• Experience with Data Build Tool (DBT).
• Knowledge of data formats like Avro and Parquet.
• Proficiency in data query languages such as SQL.
• Experience ingesting data from on-premise and cloud sources including Azure.
• Programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Good understanding of data modeling techniques and trade-offs.
• Knowledge of NoSQL and RDBMS databases.
• Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Nice to have:

• Business understanding of the retail industry.

• Take end-to-end responsibility to build, optimize, and support existing and new data products towards the defined target vision.
• Champion DevOps mindset and principles, managing CI/CD pipelines and Terraform, particularly on GCP.
• Ensure data products operate as independent deployment units and meet standards for security, scalability, observability, and performance.
• Work closely with Product Owner and stakeholders on vision and identification of new data products.
• Collaborate with product teams on topics related to the data mesh concept.
• Evaluate and drive continuous improvement and reduce technical debt.
• Maintain expertise in latest data, analytics, and cloud technologies.
