Software Engineer - Frontend (Enabling Functions)

Tesco Technology is hiring a Front-End Developer to join the Enabling Functions - Herald team, which consists of 8 colleagues delivering critical functionalities for Tesco. The team works on a microfrontend-based platform supporting essential processes for Tesco colleagues worldwide.

• 3+ years of commercial experience as a Frontend Software Developer
• Best practices in web development including design, semantic HTML, CSS, TypeScript
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as React, Redux, React-Router
• Testing experience with React Testing Library, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Jasmine, Enzyme, Mocha
• Awareness and practice of UI performance best practices
• Understanding and exposure to integrating REST API endpoints
• Strong experience with web accessibility, design, usability, and mobile-first approach
• Exposure to DevOps model
• Experience in Lean and Agile environments and understanding of BDD, ATDD, TDD methodologies
• Desire to write readable, maintainable, modular, and extendable code

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Micro Frontends and Next.js
• Familiarity with managed QA processes
• Experience with responsive and adaptive web designs
• Developing web applications for non-standard devices

• Develop and maintain frontend features related to My Work, Landing Pages, Colleague Inbox, and News & Views communication platform
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and QA to ensure solution reliability, scalability, and usability
• Contribute to a microfrontend-based platform with a substantial user base
• Write readable, maintainable, modular, and extendable code
• Participate in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices
• Support production systems, resolve incidents, and perform root cause analysis
• Debug and maintain software solutions
• Share knowledge within the engineering community
• Produce proofs of concept and conduct research to evaluate new solutions

This role requires candidates to be based in or near Kraków, Poland, as 60% of the workweek is spent collaborating onsite at office locations or local sites.
