Data Center Technician

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) powers cloud services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure. The infrastructure includes over 200 Data Centers in 32 countries supporting more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. The team focuses on environmental sustainability and optimization in data center design and operations.

• Completed High/Secondary School, GED, apprenticeship/vocational qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Some experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Applicable certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+) or Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
• A driving licence is beneficial.

• Contribute to issue tracking through escalations and seeking guidance for timely resolution.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and complete required safety training.
• Complete assigned tickets efficiently while meeting KPIs and SLAs with guidance.
• Comply with security and data management procedures and complete required security training.
• Maintain client focus to understand the impact of work when completing tasks.
• Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing information and participating in meetings.
• Take ownership and pride in the quality and completeness of data center facilities service.
• Embody Microsoft culture and values.
