Senior Data/BI Engineer

POL GPC Global Technology Center is hiring for a Senior Data/BI Engineer role based in Krakow, Poland. The position involves working with modern Azure-based data platforms and Microsoft Fabric in an international, cross-functional team environment.

• 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and/or Data Engineering roles
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL databases (query optimization, indexing, performance tuning)
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data transformation frameworks
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or comparable modern data platform environments
• Proficiency in DAX for data modeling and reporting logic
• Experience building Power BI reports
• Experience working with Azure data services
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar DevOps tools
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, dimensional modeling, data lakes)
• Experience working in international and cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to have:

• Experience with Python for data processing, scripting, or automation
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks
• Experience with large-scale, cloud-based data platforms
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data platform tools
• Build and optimize data models within Microsoft Fabric and related Azure services
• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance-tuned database solutions
• Create and maintain semantic models and business logic using DAX
• Develop data processing and automation solutions using Python (preferred)
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and data consumers to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data solutions
• Apply DevOps best practices to ensure code quality, version control, testing, and deployment automation
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and reporting performance
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are met
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to data strategy initiatives
