Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS/GCP)

Ensono is an expert technology adviser and managed service provider with cross-platform certifications, enabling clients to achieve key business outcomes and embrace innovation. The Public Cloud Product Engineering team works closely with Product Management to develop standard services and solutions for multiple managed service customers.

• 8+ years’ experience supporting highly customer-focused mission critical environments.
• 5+ years’ experience architecting, engineering, or supporting public cloud solutions on AWS or GCP.
• Sound knowledge of AWS or GCP best practices, security considerations, and architectural design patterns.
• Experience implementing and supporting public-cloud based workloads and services.
• Hold multiple current AWS or Google Cloud Certifications or demonstrate equivalent knowledge.
• Experience building solutions using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with configuration management systems (e.g., Ansible).
• Excellent Linux OS knowledge and experience (RHCE or equivalent).
• Scripting ability in Python, Perl, or Bash.
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Experience with AWS or GCP CLI and scripting.
• Experience working with containerized environments (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes/Docker) is useful but not essential.
• Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD pipeline technology is useful.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve productivity and quality (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Kiro).
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP.
• Degree in a computing-related discipline preferred or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience working in ITIL and Agile environments beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to share knowledge via clear documentation and presentations.
• Ability to implement supportable solutions and simplify complexity.
• Able to work efficiently without close supervision.

• Act as the lead engineer on Product Engineering epics and stories.
• Develop new repeatable Ensono public cloud services and solutions.
• Define and evolve public cloud technical standards to ensure repeatability, supportability, scalability, and security.
• Make recommendations on technical stack including research, assessments, bake-offs, and proof of concepts.
• Assess and onboard new AWS and GCP services in line with the Product roadmap.
• Drive the deployment of automated infrastructure and systems using Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and scripting.
• Provide subject matter expertise and advice to pre-sales architects on technical standards.
• Act as a final line of escalation and assistance for the cloud operations team for major problems.
• Proactively keep up to date on public cloud services and related technology.
