Developer Platform Engineer with API management

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong coding skills in Java or Kotlin, including experience with modern application frameworks and solid API design principles.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major API gateway/management technology (e.g., AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, Kong).
• Good understanding of API security, authentication/authorization, traffic management, and resilience.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Previous experience building or contributing to a shared cloud platform, developer portal, or platform engineering capability.
• Excellent English skills (minimum B2+), able to facilitate technical discussions and write concise decision documents.

Nice to have:

• Broad technical background including application development, networking, and security.
• Experience with advanced observability, service discovery, and automated operations.
• German language skills.

• Design, develop, and operate shared platform capabilities, developer portals, and Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) to improve developer experience.
• Manage and optimize API gateway infrastructure, traffic management, rate limiting, and API security.
• Drive technical decisions, evaluate technical options, build prototypes, document trade-offs, and present recommendations to stakeholders.
• Translate high-level business or technical objectives into concrete, implementable solutions.
• Take accountability for initiatives within an agile, cross-functional team, moving projects from concept to production.
• Work in a remote-first, agile environment (Scrum or Kanban) focused on collaboration and high impact.
