Downeast Cider - AI Full Stack Developer

Downeast Cider is a cider manufacturer with approximately 100 employees across production, packaging, supply chain, sales, marketing, and finance teams. The company currently has no in-house software engineering or IT function and is beginning to integrate AI tools to improve business processes.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building production-grade systems
• AI-native proficiency with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Copilot
• Full-stack proficiency with multiple languages including JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and SQL
• Strong experience with low/no-code automation tools such as Zapier, Make, n8n, Airtable, or Retool
• Experience shipping internal tools or CRMs end-to-end including frontend, backend, database, and deployment
• Comfortable communicating with non-technical stakeholders to gather specifications
• Self-directed, async-friendly with excellent written communication and self-management skills

Nice to have:

• Experience in small/mid-sized non-tech companies in CPG, beverage, food, or retail
• Experience with sales forecasting, demand planning, or time-series modeling
• Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar data warehouses
• Familiarity with CPG data sources like distributor sales data (VIP, iDig), Shopify, QuickBooks, NetSuite
• Personal side projects using AI tools
• Background in data engineering or analytics

• Learn each business function deeply by working closely with teams
• Partner with department managers to develop technical solutions for identified problems
• Proactively ideate on new problems to solve, including automations, data products, and integrations
• Ship solutions rapidly using AI coding tools and low/no-code platforms, owning the full lifecycle from scoping to deployment
• Document solutions lightly to enable non-technical teammates to self-serve where appropriate

This is a full-time, primary role with no freelancing or second jobs allowed. Candidates must be happy to work remotely as independent contractors and handle their own tax-related procedures.
