Senior Product Controller

Global Markets Product Control is a division of Global Banking and Markets Finance responsible for the production and independent validation of Global Markets' profit and loss and balance sheet. The daily process involves daily & monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations and substantiation as well as reporting activities and close engagement with various senior stakeholders in Product control, IT, Operations, Change and Business to meet business requirements.

• University graduate in financial, economic, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar subject
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in product control or similar role within financial markets
• Good knowledge of financial markets and products, including lifecycle, pricing, valuation, trading operations, P&L analysis, risk management, and accounting principles
• Experience with P&L Analysis, Balance Sheet reconciliations, or Financial Reporting
• Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to interpret financial data
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels

• Lead the daily production of Profit & Loss within specific Global Markets trading desks, working alongside Front Office traders and sales managers to resolve variances
• Verify the accuracy of P&L attribution across various factors including market effects and pricing components
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of daily trading and sales revenues, producing detailed commentary on P&L drivers and financial market context
• Conduct monthly comparisons of P&L with General Ledger balances to identify and explain variations
• Oversee and assist with month-end General Ledger closure and substantiation of the Balance Sheet
• Represent the department in meetings, participate in strategic discussions, and present results to senior management and stakeholders
• Challenge business performance and trading activity to detect anomalies and report potential risks or fraudulent activities
• Ensure full compliance with Global Markets Functional Instruction Manuals and regulatory requirements
