Analyst – Monitoring & Surveillance

HSBC Technology Poland operates in the financial services sector, supporting global compliance monitoring and surveillance activities related to market abuse offences. The role is part of the Offshore Surveillance team that supports onshore Compliance offices and various global businesses.

• Fluency in English; additional EU languages are a plus
• Educated to degree level
• Prior experience or genuine interest in financial services
• Knowledge of financial markets and financial market regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new technologies
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
• Knowledge of Electronic / Audio Surveillance monitoring tools

• Review audio and electronic communications alerts to detect potential cases of market abuse, market manipulation, or breaches of HSBC policies
• Escalate potential regulatory and internal market misconduct breaches, gather evidence, and document findings clearly
• Eliminate alerts with no issues in a timely manner
• Work with surveillance technology and review platforms, contribute to testing new surveillance tools
• Consistently achieve process and queue turnaround times as per performance level agreements
• Collaborate with colleagues in Krakow and other Compliance Teams to improve global surveillance processes
• Contribute to relationship management meetings and maintain close relationships with onshore partners
• Continuously expand knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and market abuse risks to enhance control effectiveness
