IT Team Leader

Kuehne+Nagel is a global logistics leader enabling delivery of goods including fresh fruit and time-sensitive healthcare products worldwide. The role is within the Sea Logistics BPA (Business Process Automation) team in Wroclaw, focusing on process orchestration for automated freight workflows.

• Strong Java background with ability to make architecture decisions and contribute hands-on.
• Hands-on experience working with AI agents in development and ownership of their outputs.
• Ability to reason about system behavior, failure modes, and long-term evolution.
• Demonstrated experience leading a software development team with full disciplinary responsibility.
• Process-oriented mindset with background in BPA or workflow orchestration as an advantage.
• Comfortable leading a remote team with a Product Lead in a different country.
• Ability to build team culture from the ground up.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with several years of Java experience.
• Familiarity with agile delivery practices and tools like Maven, Git, Jenkins.
• Plus: experience with Angular, OpenShift, Docker.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

• Lead the BPA Wroclaw team with full disciplinary responsibility including performance reviews, capacity planning, and individual development.
• Serve as architectural lead, owning technical design decisions and reviewing critical code.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership by resolving complex blockers and contributing to implementation.
• Establish AI-augmented engineering best practices and introduce new AI capabilities into workflows.
• Partner with the Product Lead to define OKRs, translate priorities into goals, and monitor delivery performance.
• Lead hiring efforts including defining candidate profiles, conducting interviews, and onboarding.
• Represent the BPA team in cross-functional collaboration to align priorities and delivery plans.
• Champion the orchestration-first BPA philosophy to proactively steer freight workflows.
