Senior Cloud Engineer

Appliscale is an independent Technology Consultancy specializing in bespoke, cloud-based systems and full-cycle engineering, working across industries such as gaming, proptech, legaltech, and adtech. They partner with startups, scaleups, and Fortune 500 companies worldwide, focusing on building intelligent agents for automation and scalable ecosystems.

• 5+ years of production experience in cloud engineering (AWS, IaC)
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, C#, Java, or Golang
• Proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines
• Expertise with monitoring tools like Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, testing, data structures, and algorithms
• Solid knowledge of DBMS like PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
• Expertise in REST APIs
• Understanding of OO design patterns, SOLID principles, and Clean Code
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and/or Kanban
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Self-motivation and proactive attitude
• Proficiency in English

Nice to have:

• Exposure to fullstack development
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

• Designing, writing, testing, and deploying functionalities via IaC (Terraform) in AWS Serverless environment
• Implementing backend code using TypeScript, Python, C#, or Java
• Maintaining production systems used by consumers in several European countries
• Debugging issues and assessing feature complexity
• Participating in sprint planning, daily sprints, and meetings with product owners
• Recruiting and mentoring team members
• Collaborating with other teams dependent on developed functionalities
