Senior Fullstact Developer (Java + React)

Scalo is a company working on data solutions including Data Lake and Data Warehouse processes, with projects involving online and offline data feeding, SQL query tuning on relational and cloud databases, and development of conversational analytics tools integrating AI and data teams. The company operates in Warsaw and Poznań, Poland, and offers hybrid work with one day per week in the office.

• Experience with React frontend development
• Experience building web applications with conversational chat features
• Experience in backend development with Java, including API design and development
• Basic knowledge of BigQuery and SQL
• Ability to design ergonomic UIs for data visualization
• Experience with Git, code review, quality standards, documentation, and testing (unit, integration, e2e)
• Experience in production environments with CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and incident response
• Willingness to collaborate with AI and data teams on API contracts, data formats, validations, and cost constraints
• Knowledge of semantic/metrics layer solutions including caching, pre-aggregations, and metric governance (nice to have)
• Familiarity with conversational analytics tools and product patterns for 'chat with data' (nice to have)
• Knowledge of UI libraries and data visualization tools, and GCP services such as Cloud Run and Pub/Sub (nice to have)
• Basic knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (nice to have)
• Experience in regulated environments such as banking including audit, compliance, data classification, and security processes (nice to have)

• Build web applications with conversational chat features including streaming responses, conversation history, user feedback, and source presentation
• Design and develop backend API services in Java
• Design ergonomic user interfaces for data including tables, charts, drill-downs, and export functionality
• Collaborate with AI Engineers and data teams on API contracts, data formats, validations, and cost constraints
• Work in production environments with CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and incident response
• Develop data feeding solutions for Data Lake and Data Warehouse, including online and offline data flows
• Analyze data and prepare logical and physical data models
• Tune SQL queries on relational and cloud databases (on-prem and GCP)
• Develop data loading solutions in Python and Rust for structured and unstructured data
• Develop and enhance the 'chat with data' tool from conversation layer to query generation and response presentation
• Implement solutions based on business requirements
• Participate in incident resolution and problem solving
• Support testing and deployment of data feeding processes
• Maintain and service software
• Work in a DevSecOps model
• Work in a hybrid model with one day per week in the office in Warsaw or Poznań
