Senior Al Engineer

j-labs is a Polish software company founded in 2010, specializing in software development with expertise in Java, JavaScript, .NET, Kotlin, Python, QA, and DevOps. The company operates in three locations: Cracow, Warsaw, and Munich, serving over 75 clients across fintech, telco, e-commerce, travel & airlines, automotive, logistics, and banking sectors. It employs over 500 engineers with an average experience of 11 years and focuses on microservice and DLT centers of excellence including consulting, training, and software development.

• Minimum 5 years experience in developing and evolving technology products
• At least 3 years experience in AI/ML Engineering
• Experience as a technical leader with active programming involvement
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Practical experience with production LLM deployments
• Experience building RAG systems, agentic AI, prompt engineering, and evaluation frameworks
• Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Temporal, Prefect, or Airflow
• Knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud environments
• Practical knowledge of vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or pgvector
• Daily use of AI-assisted programming tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT)
• Fluent in Polish and English (spoken and written)

• Experience in financial or fintech sectors
• Knowledge of compliance, auditability, and data security
• Experience in MLOps and scaling AI solutions
• Experience with fine-tuning open-source models

• Co-create and implement AI strategy for the platform
• Select, evaluate, and manage LLM models
• Design agent-based architecture and RAG systems
• Define standards for prompt engineering and model quality assessment
• Identify business areas where AI adds value
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams on new features
• Design and implement key AI functionalities
• Develop data transformation generation engine
• Build integration recommendation systems
• Create intelligent data validation layers
• Integrate AI components with Agno-based workflows
• Develop frameworks for model quality evaluation
• Monitor production AI system effectiveness
• Implement mechanisms for detecting model quality degradation (model drift)
• Define quality metrics such as accuracy, consistency, and user acceptance
• Define standards for responsible AI use in regulated environments
• Ensure high quality, explainability, and auditability of model outputs
• Implement Human-in-the-Loop mechanisms

• Work location hybrid with up to 3 days per week in Kraków office
• Fluent Polish and English required
