Production Engineering Specialist

The role is within a global Payments IT environment supporting business-critical platforms responsible for payment execution, messaging, orchestration, and investigation-related services in the banking industry.

• Fluent English, both spoken and written.
• Strong experience with SQL and PL/SQL.
• Good knowledge of Linux environments.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Experience with AppDynamics and Splunk.
• Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and components.
• Experience with shell scripting or automation using at least one of: Bash, Python, or Java.
• Knowledge of system monitoring and performance tuning.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with frequent changes and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of application landscape layers: storage, operating systems, networks, databases, and applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively across a global organization.
• Proven ability to triage issues under pressure and make priority decisions in real time.
• Experience in Agile, DevOps, or production support environments.

Nice to have:

• Experience in the payments domain.
• Additional scripting or development experience in Python or Java.

• Provide day-to-day production support for critical application environments.
• Resolve live incidents and contribute to post-resolution problem management activities.
• Investigate major system issues and identify root causes.
• Support installation and deployment of new software releases.
• Implement locally developed solutions and automation scripts using Shell, Bash, Python, or Java.
• Support testing activities related to new implementations.
• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders across a global organization.
• Review, improve, and re-engineer operational processes using modern technologies.
• Contribute to service improvements, capability uplift, and process automation.
• Use monitoring and analysis tools to assess system performance and architecture.
• Participate in data validation, implementation, and testing activities.
• Perform data analysis to support root cause investigation and identify anomalies.
• Contribute to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities.
