Software Engineer 5 — Knowledge Platform

Netflix is a leading entertainment service with over 300 million paid memberships worldwide. The role is within the Infrastructure Engineering organization, specifically the Engineering Operations team, focusing on the Knowledge Platform initiative that merges technical documentation and developer support using GenAI technologies.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building and operating high-quality production systems.
• Preferred experience with Java and Python; openness to Kotlin, C#, or similar languages.
• Genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for GenAI; hands-on experience is a strong plus.
• Ability to innovate and work on open-ended, ambiguous problems.
• Technical leadership experience with project driving and mentoring skills.
• Fast learner comfortable adapting to Netflix's internal stack and tooling.
• Experience in knowledge/documentation or developer-productivity platforms is a plus.
• Customer-oriented mindset with empathy for developers.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI and LLM harnesses such as prompt orchestration and evaluation frameworks is a strong plus.

• Design, build, and operate systems behind AI-driven documentation and GenAI-powered developer support experiences.
• Shape the technical direction and roadmap of the Knowledge Platform.
• Apply GenAI and LLM-based techniques to improve documentation quality and support responses.
• Navigate ambiguity and rapidly evolving requirements with thoughtful trade-offs.
• Provide technical leadership by driving projects, raising engineering quality, and mentoring peers.
• Partner with product, program management, and engineers to meet developer needs.
• Own work end to end, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
