Senior Software Engineer, Device Security

• 10+ years of backend development experience, including leading significant technical initiatives.
• Experience with mission-critical systems, ideally in identity, authentication, OAuth, or access control.
• Proficient in writing clean, maintainable Java code.
• Experience operating large-scale distributed systems with high uptime and security requirements.
• Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Experience with enterprise security or authentication domains preferred.
• Familiarity with zero trust models and device security posture management preferred.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure preferred.
• Experience with PHP, TypeScript, and React is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a well-structured environment and building scalable solutions in mature systems.

• Design, build, and maintain mission-critical enterprise software enforcing trusted access from client devices and platforms.
• Lead development of software components in authentication and secure access, ensuring resilience, performance, and security.
• Own key services end-to-end, including architecture, design, implementation, deployment, observability, alerting, and on-call support.
• Drive architectural discussions and guide the evolution of Box’s security infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and security teams on secure device management and access control initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to and triage issues.
