Java Developer (banking)

Britenet is a company based in Warsaw operating in the banking sector, focusing on IT solutions including data lake and data warehouse processes, and conversational analytics tools.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in backend development with Java, including API design and development
• Good knowledge of frontend technologies, especially React
• Experience building web applications with conversational features such as chat, including streaming responses, conversation history, user feedback, and source presentation
• Basic knowledge of BigQuery and SQL
• Ability to design ergonomic UI for data including tables, charts, drill-down, and export functionality
• Experience with team collaboration tools and practices: Git, code review, quality standards, documentation, unit/integration/e2e testing
• Experience in production environments with CI/CD, monitoring/logging, and incident response
• Willingness to collaborate with AI engineers and data teams on API contracts, data formats, validations, and cost constraints
• Proficiency in Polish language at minimum B2 level for team communication
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model from the client’s office in Warsaw

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of semantic/metrics layer solutions including semantic layer, caching, pre-aggregations, and metrics governance
• Familiarity with conversational analytics tools and product patterns for "chat with data" such as citations, "show SQL", explore vs answer modes, and trust scoring
• Experience with UI and data visualization libraries
• Knowledge of GCP services like Cloud Run and Pub/Sub
• Basic knowledge of containerization and deployment using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience in regulated environments (banking) including audit, compliance, data classification, and security processes

• Building Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions with both online and offline data feeding processes
• Designing and implementing IT solutions for data feeding
• Analyzing data and preparing logical and physical data models
• Creating offline and online data flows using on-premises tools and GCP
• Developing data loading solutions in Python and Rust for structured and unstructured data
• Building and enhancing the "chat with data" tool, including conversation layer, intent interpretation, query generation, and response presentation
• Designing and implementing solutions based on business requirements
• Incident resolution and problem-solving participation
• Supporting testing and implementing changes in data feeding processes
• Assisting in servicing deployed software

Candidates must have proficiency in Polish language (minimum B2) to communicate effectively within the team. The position requires hybrid work from the client’s office in Warsaw. Data processing is governed by Britenet Sp. z o.o. with rights and obligations as stated in the information clause.
