Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer

Shelf builds software that helps enterprises make AI work in the real world. For their Voice AI product, they focus on reliable runtime systems, strong deployment paths, and production infrastructure that enables engineering teams to move fast without operational chaos.

• Strong senior-level experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong cloud and infrastructure fundamentals in AWS, Azure, or comparable environments.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and modern delivery pipelines.
• Strong operational judgment around reliability, observability, incident response, and production systems.
• Ability to work across infrastructure, backend services, developer workflows, and operational tooling.
• Clear communication and strong written skills, especially for runbooks, postmortems, and technical decisions.
• AI-native working style, using AI tools in daily engineering work.

Strong Plus:

• Hands-on experience deploying or operating STT, TTS, STS, or similar voice-model workloads.
• Experience improving developer experience for product teams.
• Experience with security, access control, compliance-minded infrastructure, and operational guardrails.
• Ability to debug problems spanning application code, infrastructure, and third-party systems.

• Improve deployment, operation, observability, and support of Voice AI services in production.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code, CI/CD flows, environment setup, and paved paths to reduce developer friction.
• Enhance observability with improved logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
• Improve reliability through operational standards, incident handling, post-incident follow-through, and SLO implementation.
• Work across application and infrastructure boundaries as needed.
• Reduce recurring toil via automation, documentation, and better defaults.
• Make trade-offs around cost, security, performance, and speed.
• Use AI tools to increase leverage and improve engineering workflows.
