Senior Unix Server Support Specialist

B2Bnetwork is hiring a Senior Server Support Specialist to work in Warsaw, focusing on improving server support for a Bank's infrastructure. The role involves collaboration with a Server Engineering team and an external support company, aiming to optimize resources and reduce major incidents.

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing hundreds of RedHat Enterprise Linux and Unix servers in enterprise environments.
• Practical experience with RedHat Satellite for platform management.
• Strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies and compute operations.
• Ability to design, build, implement, and maintain automation using Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience optimizing cloud spend and ensuring security compliance.
• Experience identifying and remediating inconsistent configurations across hybrid-cloud environments.
• Familiarity with modern management and monitoring tools for RedHat/Unix and GCP.
• Skilled in daily server management, incident response, and technical consultation.
• Skilled in IT governance, including SOPs, compliance, patching, upgrading, and monitoring.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written, at least B2 level).
• Previous experience in financial institutions or highly regulated environments is a strong asset.

Nice to have:

• Experience managing Solaris, AIX, and IBMi Unix operating systems.
• Practical experience with VMware environment support.

• Collaborate closely with the Server Engineering team on governance, security, architecture, and design.
• Work with an external company handling daily support operations.
• Reduce the number and duration of major incidents.

• Improve support for IT operation and development teams.
• Manage daily server operations including diagnosing and troubleshooting issues.

• Ensure compliance with engineering and cybersecurity policies.
• Perform patching, upgrading, hardening, and monitoring of servers.
