Software Engineer

CloudFerro develops technologies used by European leaders in science and the space sector, including ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International, DLR, and EGI. The company focuses on Earth Observation and supports climate research and scientific analysis. The team works on building European data cloud infrastructure with expertise in modern technologies and international projects.

• Minimum 3 years of commercial programming experience.
• Completed or ongoing studies in computer science or related fields.
• Proficient in writing clear and efficient Python code.
• Experience with multi-threaded and multi-process programming.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and asynchronous communication (RPC, queues).
• Strong foundations in algorithms and data structures.
• Proficient in SQL and Linux.
• Experience writing unit tests following TDD principles.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Java and Keycloak.
• Experience with Golang and Envoy.
• Knowledge of C++.
• Experience with OpenStack.
• Programming experience with SPDK/DPDK.
• Contributions to OpenStack or kolla-ansible.
• Experience with Kubernetes.

• Develop and maintain multi-threaded and multi-process Python code.
• Work within a microservices architecture using asynchronous communication methods such as RPC and message queues.
• Participate in automation, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Use Linux-based environments and tools including Git, Jira, Confluence, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to R&D topics such as efficient scheduling, NVMe-Of, SPDK/DPDK, GPU clustering, high-availability multi-tenant networked file systems, SDN, and software-defined data centers.
• Add new functionalities and technical improvements to OpenStack and related services.
• Follow Scrum/Agile methodologies in software development.
