Senior Software Engineer, Platform Reliability

• Strong software engineering experience with production code writing and system design.
• Over 5 years of experience building and maintaining large-scale backend systems.
• Knowledge of distributed systems patterns including backpressure, graceful degradation, and capacity planning.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Terraform, and monitoring tools like Datadog.
• Experience defining and working towards explicit reliability and performance goals for production systems.
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with platform and infrastructure teams.

Nice to have:

• Curiosity about AI tools and new technologies with a willingness to learn and apply them to improve productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.

• Design and build core platform systems including load shedding, circuit breakers, and rate limiting.
• Manage key platform components such as ingress and egress traffic flow.
• Define stable interfaces and libraries used by other platform teams.
• Lead projects from initial scope and design through deployment, collaborating with multiple platform teams.
• Partner with infrastructure teams to integrate reliability as a fundamental design principle.
• Debug complex issues across the technology stack.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, design discussions, and mentoring.
