DevOps Engineer

Tesco Technology is a global technology team with over 4,000 experts across five countries including the UK, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and India. The team focuses on solving problems at a global scale by taking strategic ownership of architecture, design, testing, deployment, infrastructure, operation, and security of systems to ensure agile, smooth, and safe operations with maximum business impact.

• 4+ years of commercial experience building CI/CD solutions
• Experience running and supporting software in production (DevOps approach)
• Experience with Azure
• Strong problem-solving, analysis, and computational skills; designing and reasoning about systems
• Thorough and logical approach to problem resolution, ownership through to completion
• Designing and developing systems for high availability and scalability
• Awareness and willingness to work on cross-area security initiatives
• Experience working within an e-commerce or at-scale business valuing security, availability, and reliability
• Depth of professional software engineering experience and best practices for the full SDLC

Nice to have:

• Experience with tools: Kafka, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Hubs, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, Splunk, New Relic, Azure DevOps, Argo CD, Git, Nexus, IntelliJ, SNYK, SonarQube

• Focus on continuous integration and continuous delivery
• Work with other teams to move towards a common infrastructure
• Be a coder; review and contribute clean code
• Contribute to the definition of features for the common infrastructure for over 50 engineers
• Effectively communicate and work with teams to support the delivery of cross-area infrastructure changes
• Proactively mentor the rest of the team and help with hiring
