Backend Engineer - Workflows

The Workflows team builds the execution layer behind Text's AI agents, responsible for scheduling, scaling, and maintaining reliability under production load. This infrastructure supports AI agent skills automation and integrates with Text's visual builder and natural language skill generation.

• Strong production-grade experience with Go (Golang).
• Hands-on experience with asynchronous distributed systems, event-driven architectures, job queues, and eventual consistency.
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Google Pub/Sub.
• Solid PostgreSQL skills including schema design and query optimization at scale.
• Proven ability to independently deliver backend features end-to-end.

Nice to have:

• Experience with workflow or task execution engines like Conductor, Temporal, or Airflow.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Redis or Valkey for caching and distributed synchronization.
• Some exposure to Node.js.

• Build, scale, and maintain Go-based backend services for AI skill execution, workflow scheduling, and connector management.
• Contribute to features such as workflow sharing, credential sharing, new task types, and third-party integrations.
• Collaborate with the frontend team to design and implement APIs enabling new product capabilities.
• Participate in the evolution of the unified skill builder, including AI-generated agent skills.
• Manage DevOps aspects including Kubernetes, Helm, and GCP.
• Engage in architectural decisions, including plans to migrate from the current workflow execution engine.
• Use AI coding tools daily to accelerate development.
