Software Development Engineer II

Remitly is a company focused on providing secure, simple, and reliable global money transfer services since 2011. The role is part of the App Platform Engineering team that builds and maintains the foundational mobile and web platform used by over 20 product teams. The company has over 2,800 employees worldwide and operates in Kraków, Poland.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience with 4+ years building products at scale
• Proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React or React Native
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab
• Hands-on experience owning full mobile or web release lifecycle from pipeline design to app store delivery
• Experience designing data layers between backend services and client apps using GraphQL, BFF patterns, or similar
• Exposure to design systems at scale and building components adopted by product teams

Nice to have:

• Experience with backend languages: Go, Java, or Kotlin
• Knowledge of React Native performance constraints, native bridge, and OS-level differences
• Experience contributing to shared platforms including frameworks, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience onboarding teams onto platforms with good documentation and well-designed APIs
• Understanding of full client app spectrum from native to PWA with clear insights on trade-offs

• Own the architecture and evolution of the mobile and web platform used by 20+ product teams
• Contribute to design and implementation of future client apps architecture
• Lead the shared component library, design system, accessibility, and localisation engine in partnership with UX
• Enable product teams through documentation, tooling, and architecture reviews
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, feature flagging, and safe rollout infrastructure
• Mentor junior engineers and uphold quality standards including regulatory compliance
