Senior Cloud Engineer

Remitly is a financial services company focused on providing secure, simple, and reliable ways for customers to send money globally. The company has over 2,800 employees worldwide and operates in the financial technology sector.

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure with significant hands-on AWS expertise.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language; Go experience is strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of cloud networking including VPC design, subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, and load balancing.
• Experience with edge infrastructure management such as CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, and CDN failover strategies.
• Experience building and operating infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
• Understanding of cloud and infrastructure management concepts including multi-account governance and organizational tooling.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes/EKS is a plus.

• Lead architecture decisions on cloud topology, multi-account governance, cross-region connectivity, and platform abstractions.
• Own and evolve edge infrastructure including CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, CDN failover strategies, and latency-optimized routing.
• Build and maintain production Go services and CLI tooling to automate, observe, and extend the cloud platform.
• Design and operate global partner and bank connectivity network including VPNs (IPSec/IKEv2), Direct Connect, BGP routing, and multi-account, multi-region topology.
• Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Platform teams to embed observability, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across distributed cloud environments using deep knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and traffic flow analysis.
• Participate in on-call rotation (5-person weekly rotation) with occasional late syncs with Seattle (4–6 PM CET).
