DevOps Engineer

J-Labs is a company involved in a global migration project to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), focusing on migrating over 100 microservices to Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a DevOps engineer
• Extensive practical experience with Kubernetes, preferably GKE, including deployments, ingress, configuration management, and troubleshooting
• Experience in migration or operation of large-scale microservices platforms
• Practical experience deploying and supporting Java and Python services in Kubernetes
• Solid experience with monitoring, observability, and tracing, preferably with Grafana stack (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo) and alerting best practices
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, and automated environment provisioning
• Strong production focus: reliability, incident response, and continuous improvement
• Ability to work with local and global teams; good command of English and Polish (spoken and written)
• Pragmatic, task-oriented approach balancing speed with control and risk management
• Open-minded, willing to learn, and able to advise or lead others when needed

Nice to have:

• Experience with GCP services commonly used in GKE (IAM, VPC, Cloud Logging/Monitoring, Artifact Registry)
• Development and standardization of Helm charts across multiple teams
• Experience with Service Mesh (Istio) and/or API gateway patterns
• Knowledge of security tools and practices (container scanning, policy-as-code, load identification)

• Design and develop the platform on GCP/GKE for hundreds of microservices
• Collaborate with development teams to deploy applications to Kubernetes
• Support Java and Python services including Helm configuration, secrets management, and scaling
• Build and standardize CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications including build, tests, security, deploy, and rollback
• Develop observability stack including metrics, logs, and tracing using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo
• Create dashboards, alerts, and SLO reports
• Maintain production stability through incident analysis, root cause analysis, and preventive actions
• Reduce technical debt and improve the platform
• Collaborate in an international environment and share knowledge
