Sr Engineer - Software QA

Xperi is a publicly traded technology company headquartered in San Jose, CA with employees across North America, Europe and Asia. The company invents, develops, and delivers technologies powering consumer electronics, connected cars, and digital content titles under renowned consumer brands such as DTS®, HD Radio, and TiVo®. The role is part of the team ensuring quality and customer satisfaction of products under the TiVo brand.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Testing
• Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and practices in software development
• Practical experience in applying AI-based testing tools or integrating AI into QA workflows
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining test cases, test reports, and defects
• Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and Xray
• Knowledge of Digital TV standards: DVB and IPTV
• Very good spoken and written English (B2+)
• Strong initiative, ownership, and willingness to mentor others

Nice to have:

• ISTQB – Foundation Level / Advanced Level
• Knowledge of UNIX based systems
• Knowledge of Testing Tools: Jenkins and Selenium
• Programming skills in Python
• Experience with ML/AI-based predictive analytics or test optimisation

• Define quality standards, drive best practices, and support the team in advanced technical decisions (Test Strategy Leadership)
• Analyse complex requirements, define acceptance criteria, and design comprehensive test scenarios (Advanced Test Case Development)
• Perform manual scenarios and exploratory tests, validate complex integrations, and document results (Test Execution)
• Identify, report, track, and collaborate with development for defect investigation and resolution (Defect Management)
• Elevate team’s awareness, competencies, and skills through knowledge sharing (Documentation and Technical Knowledge)
• Identify, suggest, and implement improvements, innovations, and AI-supported optimisation ideas (Continuous Improvement)
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, product engineers, and other stakeholders regarding design approaches, requirements, and defects analysis (Collaboration)
• Apply AI/ML to optimise test planning, regression scope, risk-based prioritisation, and intelligent test case generation (AI-Driven Quality Engineering)
