Head of Engineering

DO OK is a company providing life-changing software services, located in Wrocław, Poland.

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering
• 3–5 years of leadership experience managing engineering teams
• Proven track record delivering complex software platforms or AI-enabled solutions in production
• Strong understanding of software architecture, engineering processes, and delivery management
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable)
• Experience building and scaling SaaS or platform-based products
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a scale-up environment
• C1/C2 English and native/C1+ Polish
• Willingness to travel 20–30%
• Availability to work on-site in Wrocław at least 3 days per month

Nice to Have:

• Experience in AI, machine learning, or data-intensive systems
• Experience scaling engineering organizations from 10–50+ employees
• Experience working with international clients
• Background in software architecture, DevOps, or platform engineering
• Experience supporting technical due diligence or investment processes

Engineering Leadership:

• Lead and develop engineering teams across software development, AI engineering, and DevOps
• Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement
• Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and career development of technical talent
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and technical governance

Delivery & Execution:

• Own delivery planning and execution across product and client projects
• Establish and improve development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, release management, and delivery tracking
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at the expected quality level
• Manage engineering capacity and resource allocation

Technology & Architecture:

• Define and maintain technology strategy aligned with business objectives
• Collaborate with AI and platform teams on architecture, scalability, security, and reliability
• Oversee cloud infrastructure and deployment practices
• Drive technical excellence and operational efficiency across the organization

Business Collaboration:

• Partner with the CEO and C-level team to translate business priorities into engineering execution
• Support pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise and solution design
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and delivery expectations
• Balance business goals, technical constraints, and team capacity
